"Mom... can I have a big party and invite all my friends and listen to loud music? I want lots of pizza, and ice cream. And when I see all my friends having a good time I will be happy."
Those were the words Kyla said to me the morning she was coming home from the hospital for the first time. Kyla was able to come home much earlier then we had all expected, her recovery was going very well and she wasn't in as much pain as all the doctor's thought she would be in. I was sitting on her hospital bed near her feet and she was slightly sitting up with her white blanky holding her head up. Her smile had become "crooked" but just as beautiful when she smiled. I saw the look in her eyes when she was talking about having all her friends over to have a big party. But I think the words that struck me the most were the last ones, "...when I see all my friends having a good time...I will be happy." Kyla wasn't thinking of herself, she was thinking of all those who she loved and cared about.

I had no idea that this wonderful event from last year was coming up again so soon until I got an email from Gma Yvonne. You and all your faithful friends are just wonderful to be working on this again. You and Kyla's foundation will be blessed. I am looking forward to it again and will be marking the date on my calendar.
